Q: What information do you need from me to get a quote?

A: Gas – Your gas bill will show us your Meter Point Reference Number or MPRN. The MPRN is unique to the property & tells us important information like how much gas you use annually. This information is vital in helping us offer you accurate prices. Electricity – Your electricity bill will hold your Meter Point Administration Number or MPAN, which is again unique to the property. As with gas, your electricity MPAN number will tell us what kind of meter you have and therefore what kind of tariff will be correct for your property.

Q: How does it work?

– It’s simple, fill in our online form and let us call you back or call us on 0800 024 6165
– We will ask a few quick questions to assess your needs and then review your current charges against current market offers from a range of key UK business gas and business electricity suppliers.
– We will then call you back and let you know how much you could save.
– If you are happy with what we have recommended, you then have the option to accept the business energy supplier’s offer.

Q: Is there any cost for this service?

A: Our Service is Free to use. Suppliers whose prices we have access to have to, pay us a commission for every sale we make. This commission allows us to continue to provide our free service, which you can use time and time again.

Q. How long does this take to switch suppliers?

A: Transferring to a new supplier will take between 4-6 weeks. If you do decide to switch we will manage this process for you to ensure a smooth transfer.

Q. Why should I switch?

A: Switching your business gas or business electricity supplier could save you as much as 65% a year. You may also find that other suppliers have a range of services or tariffs that are more suitable to your business needs.

Q: If I do switch? Will there be any interruption to my supply?

A: No, your new energy supplier will continue to use exactly the same wires, cables and pipes as are currently used. We will arrange the transfer of your business gas or electricity and the only change you will notice is the suppliers name at the top of the bill, and the electricity or gas at the new lower price!

Q: Why don’t you show prices online?

A: Business Gas & Electricity Online Price comparison sites that show prices online use “Pricing matrix” or “Price Books”. We also have access to these business energy prices and they can be very competitive, however not all leading energy suppliers offer these quick quote pricing books. In order to ensure we source our clients the best business energy prices available, we use both methods to source & compare business electricity and gas. Therefore we prefer not to offer just a limited range of prices online, choosing instead to send a simple price comparison sheet, outlining our most competitive business energy suppliers’ offers directly to our clients via e-mail or fax.

Q: Who will manage my account?

A: SwitchMyUtility will provide a personal service, tailored to your individual requirements and will ensure your portfolio is managed by our award winning staff to the highest standards. As soon as you appoint SwitchMyUtility we will assign you an Internal Account Manager who will handle your portfolio and answer any queries you may have. We will also let you know which of our directors is responsible for overseeing the handling of your account, to ensure that our service offering is always that one-step ahead.

Q: Will CUB charge me a fee?

A: On successful completion of SwitchMyUtility services, SwitchMyUtility will receive commission directly from the energy supplier. SwitchMyUtility is happy to confirm the value of any commission payments received from a supplier in connection with your contract. If you prefer we can work on a fixed fee basis.

Q: Why am I required to sign a Letter of Authorisation?

A: SwitchMyUtility services are an outsourced service tailored towards business energy requirements. In order to tender on your behalf SwitchMyUtility is obliged to supply a letter of authority to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998. The letter of authority is not a binding contract, it authorises SwitchMyUtility to obtain details of your account, utility usage and/or supply point data directly from current Suppliers, Transco or equivalent public gas transporters or accredited electricity data collection agencies or telecommunications companies.

Q: How long does the process take?

A: Upon receipt of authorisation, SwitchMyUtility will request prices from each energy supplier .Most suppliers ask for a minimum of five working days in order to provide a full analysis and quotation. Only a few energy suppliers can quote the same day or the next working day.
